Im November 2015 besuchte ich CZT Ela Rieger (vielleicht kennt ihr ihre tolle Webseite, das ElaToRium mit dem Daily Challenge und der Musterquelle), und wir waren auf der Kreativmesse in Stuttgart (wo wir Zentangle-Workshops durchgeführt haben). Als wir da waren hat Ela mich überzeugt, folgende Stifte und Gerät zu erwerben:
In November 2015 I visited CZT Ela Rieger in Stuttgart (you might be familiar with her fantastic website, ElaToRium, featuring the daily challenge and an excellent resource for tangle patterns, the Musterquelle). We were at the Creativity Fair to give Zentangle workshops and while we were there, Ela convinced me to purchase the following art supplies:
OK, wenn ich sage, Ela hat mich überzeugt, vielleicht meine ich eher, dass sie lediglich zu mir gesagt hat: „Schau das hier an, ist das nicht toll?“ Wenn aber man in meiner Nähe so über Künstlerbedarf spricht, dann kommt das einer Kaufaufforderung gleich und der bin ich prompt gefolgt. Ich frage mich in solchen Momenten nicht wann oder wie ich das Produkt benutzen werde – diese Frage klärt sich schon irgendwann. In diesem Fall, hat es eine Weile gedauert, aber ich habe diese Stifte vor ein paar Wochen ausgepackt und in das Gerät montiert und damit auf einige Kachel die Tinte versprüht. Spass hat das gemacht!
Als das ich die erste Kachel betrachtete kam mir „Bloosa“ ziemlich schnell in den Sinn. „Bloosa“ ist eins von den vielen schönen Tanglemuster von Diana Linsse in ihrem Buch „Zentangle: Der ultimative Kurs“. Ich mochte sehr, wie Diana Bloosa auf die Kachel in ihrem Buch benutzt hat und habe gleich gesehen, wie ich es auf meiner ersten Sprühkachel einbringen wollte.
Now, when I say that Ela convinced me to buy these items, what I really mean is that she said to me: „Look at this. Pretty cool, huh?“ But if you talk about art supplies like that around me, it pretty much amounts to demanding I buy them. (I am sure many of you can relate.) I don’t ask myself when or if I will use the product – I am confident an opportunity will arise. In this case, it took awhile but a few weeks ago I unpacked the pens, mounted them in the „spritzer“ and sprayed ink on a few tiles. Fun!
As I considered my first tile, Bloosa immediately came to mind. Bloosa is one of Diana Linsse’s patterns in her book Zentangle: Der Ultimative Kurs, which I don’t think is available in English. But I loved the way she used it in her book and I quickly saw how I could also use it on my first sprayed-ink tile.
Auf der zweite Kachel wollte ich das Muster dann wieder benutzen. Then I also used it for the second tile:
Tja und dann war mir klar, dass die letzten beiden eingesprühten Kachel auch mit Bloosa zu tun haben müssen! Bloosa spielt also auch die Hauptrolle auf dieser Apprentice-Kachel:
At this point, I was on a Bloosa roll, and featured it in the third tile, which is an apprentice tile.
Und zum Schluss, habe ich Bloosa als Faden auf der Zendala benutzt. Dafür ist Bloosa wirklich toll geeignet! Ich muss gestehen, ich habe ein Glas für den Kreis in der Mitte benutzt. Allerdings habe ich beim Tanglen nicht aufgepasst und habe an einer Stelle über die Linie gezeichnet…trotzdem sieht es viel symmetrischer aus, als ich es freihändig hinbekommen hätte.
For the Zendala, I used Bloosa as the string. It is pretty perfect string for a Zendala. I admit to using a glass to draw the middle ciricle. However, while I was tangling I managed to tangle over that line in one place – but it is still much more symmetrical than any circle I could draw by hand.
