Tangle Spielerei – Playing with Tangles

Eine meiner Lieblingsmuster aus „Zentangle für jede Gelegenheit“ von Katharina Königsbauer-Kolb ist „Frunky.“ Das Muster ist genau so toll wie der Name klingt. Einfach und verspielt, Frunky besteht aus zwei Komponenten die man miteinander nach Lust und Laune abwechselt. Unten seht ihr eine Kachel mit Frunky in der oberen linken Ecke.

One of my favorite patterns in „Zentangle für jede Gelegenheit“ by Katharina Königsbauer-Kolb is „Frunky“. It’s a great name and the tangle lives up to it. It’s so simple and fun, made up of two componants that alternate with each other in a random way. Here is Frunky in a tile I did. Frunky is in the upper left portion of the tile.

Als ich Frunky neulich in Augenschein nahm, sah ich darin die Fusion zweier Elemente aus den Mustern Fescu und Shattuck. Das brachte mich auf die Idee, dass man vielleicht eine ganze Reihe neue Muster dadurch kreieren könnte, in dem man Elemente aus verschiedenen Mustern nach Frunky-Art kombiniert. Ich hatte ganz viel Spaß daran, auch wenn ich zum Schluss gekommen bin, dass meine Ergebnisse keine neue Muster sind. Dennoch ist es eine weitere Idee, wie man mit Mustern spielen kann. Unten seht ihr meine ersten Experimente. Vielleicht kriegt ihr Lust, selber zu experimentieren!

Recently as I was contemplating Frunky, I saw it as the fusion of elements from two other tangles, namely Fescu  and Shattuck. And that got me thinking that maybe a whole bunch of new tangles could be created by combining elements of various patterns in a Frunky way. I really had a lot of fun thinking about which elements to try together, even if I decided in the end that what I came up with were not new tangles. But they are a fun way to play with tangles. So here are some of my first experiments – maybe they will inspire you to try it too!
